Top Tips for World Cruising

If you're thinking of going on a World Cruise you need to be prepared for the experience - you're going to have an absolutely amazing time, and will make a lot of new friends onboard, but you'll be away from home for 3 months, so it is best to do a bit of research before you head to the port - here's our top tips for world cruising:

  • Book early, most of the cruise lines offer extra incentives for booking early and will also ensure that you get the stateroom of your choice.

  • There will be a range of shore excursions available on a world cruise but don't worry, as there will be experts on board to help you choose those that are most suitable.

  • Stretch to the best category of stateroom you can afford – more than 100 or so days is a long time and you may as well enjoy it in the upmost of comfort.

  • Check with your doctor well in advance of your departure, to ensure all your vaccinations are up to date and you have a big supply of all essential medications.

  • Remember to leave space in your case for bargains en route – you have the whole world to shop in.

  • Eliminate the fear of going “stir crazy” – ships on world cruises have even more elaborate daily schedules of classes, workshops, lectures and other activities to keep all amused.

  • If you cannot afford the time for a world cruise then take a look at the different world cruise sectors offered for world cruises. If you are very active then choose one with a port-rich itinerary. If you prefer to relax on board then look at those with some sea days.

  • Do keep a diary – and record this once in a lifetime experience!
