1,200 passenger ship Artemis is on a ‘maiden’ voyage of a different kind, as she set sail yesterday with P&O Cruises first female Captain, Sarah Breton, at the helm.
Celebrity Eclipse Godmother named
Celebrity Cruises today announced the appointment of Emma Pontin, an inspirational UK yachtswoman, to serve as Godmother of Celebrity Eclipse, the third in a series of five stunning Solstice Class ships. Pontin will name the ship in Southampton on 24th April 2010.

Olsen Cruise Lines is to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution at the charity’s annual presentation of awards at the Barbican Centre, London on 27 May 2010. Fred. Olsen and its passengers have loyally supported the RNLI for 40 years and is the charity’s, and possibly the sector’s, longest running corporate partnership.

Azura was today handed over at a ceremony in Monfalcone, Italy. In a special ceremony attended by Carol Marlow, Managing Director, P&O Cruises and David Dingle, CEO, Carnival UK, Azura officially became the property of P&O Cruises.

Cruise photos intact after camera hauled from seabed
A trawlerman is trying to trace the owner of a digital camera after it was hauled from the Atlantic seabed in his nets with the photos still intact. Benito Estevez believes the camera was dropped overboard from the QM2 cruise liner in the middle of the Atlantic.
